Where everyone sleeps
Looking at Hocking Hills cabins for groups? Start with the beds.
3 bedrooms and 6 beds: two bedrooms on the main floor, and one more plus a trundle on the lower level, so it works as one of the Hocking Hills cabins for large families or two families traveling together. Guests who'd rather skip stairs can stay entirely on the main floor.

The great room
Room for everyone, under one log ceiling
The heart of the cabin is about 1,100 square feet of open space with a soaring ceiling, a wood-burning stone fireplace and handmade log railings. Big groups fit easily, and nobody's stuck in another room.

Kitchen and dining
An 11-foot hickory table that seats the whole crew
John built the dining table by hand, and it has hosted countless family meals since. The kitchen is fully stocked: fridge and freezer, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, blender, baking sheets, wine glasses and all the cooking basics. Coffee, sugar and sweetener are on us, with a drip maker and a grinder.

Game room
Pool, ping pong and a lower level of its own
Downstairs is built for rainy afternoons and late nights: a pool table, a ping pong table, a Nintendo Wii, a TV and a daybed. Cornhole lives outside for when the sun comes back.

Porches, deck and hot tub
Two covered porches and a hot tub in the trees
Rocking chairs and a porch swing out front, a long covered porch on the side, and a private hot tub on the back deck. There is also a charcoal grill, a hammock and an outdoor shower. One guest put it simply: sunrises from the hot tub are amazing.

Fire pit
Stone fire pit, wide-open sky
A stone fire pit circled by Adirondack chairs sits just off the cabin. With no neighbors and no streetlights, the stars put on a real show. Bring firewood (Campbell's Market in McArthur sells it) and we'll supply the quiet.
Handmade
Nearly every piece, made in John's shop.
The log bench, the railings, the sofa table, the dining table. Look closely and you'll see the hand of the person who built the place.
