Hocking Hills Market

Hocking Hills Market on US 33 is a cluster of shops around a weekend flea market. The permanent shops are open year round. For an antique mall, Hocking Hills Market has two: Spring Street Antique Mall, with more than 12,000 square feet and 120 dealers, and the Hocking Hills Antique Mall in the same complex.

The Hocking Hills flea market runs Friday through Sunday, from sunup to 5 p.m. Around it you'll find:

  • Appalachian Art and Craft, with work from more than 120 independent vendors. For the yearly shows, see our Hocking Hills craft show dates.
  • Holliday's Country Oak Amish Furniture.
  • Laine's Dutch Country Store, for meats, cheeses and baking supplies.
  • A boot outlet, an outdoor supply shop, a boutique and a gift shop.
  • Hocking Hills Mini Golf and Hocking Hills Disc Golf, for anyone who's done browsing.

When you need a break, there's Chelle's 33 Diner, a 1950s-style diner, plus a coffee shop for coffee, pastries and sandwiches, and the 33 Shake Shoppe for ice cream.

Antique stores, Hocking Hills style

If you're after antique stores, Hocking Hills Market is the easy answer, with both malls under one parking lot. Give yourself at least an hour in Spring Street alone, since 120 dealers' booths go slowly.

Bring a tape measure if you're hunting furniture, and ask about holding a piece while you finish the loop.

Hocking Hills glass blowing at Jack Pine Studio

For Hocking Hills glass blowing, Jack Pine Studio on State Route 180 in Laurelville has a gallery with live demonstrations. It also runs glassblowing classes you can book online, and it hosts a Glass Pumpkin Festival.

The gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Online orders ship only, so buy in person if you want to carry a piece home.

Hocking Hills gift shops

The easiest of the Hocking Hills gift shops is at the Old Man's Cave visitor center, open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It's right at the trailhead, so stop after your hike.

A rainy-day plan

Shopping in Hocking Hills, Ohio, is the classic rainy-day backup. Start at Hocking Hills Market when the flea market opens, have lunch at the diner, then drive to Laurelville for a glassblowing demo at Jack Pine Studio.

If the rain lets up, the Hocking Hills train ride leaves from Nelsonville, and the wineries in Hocking Hills are open into the evening on weekends.

Our pick

For Hocking Hills shopping on a single afternoon, do Hocking Hills Market on a Friday or Saturday, when the flea market is running. Save Jack Pine Studio for the drive back.

Then put your feet up at our Hocking Hills cabin with hot tub, surrounded by furniture John built. For everything else, see our guide to things to do in Hocking Hills.
